Hillside High Farm. A look Back in Time

My official retirement date for Mr. Connor who has been in charge of the farm was June 10, 2023. And as of this writing, June 22 all of the chickens have been given away to other farms. Last Friday two families collect most of the chickens and took them to their respective home farms. On Tuesday of this week,  the remaining nine hens were taken to a friend's home farm in Apple Valley. Yesterday the remaining three chicks were given to a woman who works at Vons. The animal side of the farm is officially closed until a replacement hire has been found for Mr. Connor. Mr. Connor put his heart and soul into the HHS Farm,  It has been a wonderful six-year experience with chickens, ducks,  goats, and pigs on campus.

The photos below are in reverse order from the most recent back to 2017.

A compromise to the Garden. I hosted the garden inside my classroom for a couple of years.

Remnants of the previous HHS Garden from 2008ish. I started a garden and due to budget constraints, I could not support it on my own. I was not supported by the school and the garden went into disrepair.
