Small Scale Farming and Farm Update

Events of the Farm this month.....

So I have noticed that some of the BCM's have orange legs, not SOP. So I start the difficult decision of whom to keep and who to let go. I have nine roos, two of which are from our own farm and I gave them away to a UUSD maintenance worker. I now have seven of the BCM's to narrow down to three.  These are just three of the seven BCM's.

Most of the BCM's hanging out together.

This Godfather 2. He is the MAN!

The garden has not yet been planted. I am hoping I can get students on campus in the 4th quarter to help out in the garden.

Momma with her four hatched chicks. They may not be her flesh and blood, but she is the one who sat on them for 24 days, that right not just 21, but for 24.

These were scheduled to hatch on April 3rd. Most hatched on March 31 with severe splayed legs. I was able to save one. From the 12 I saved four. One did not hatch. Two were given to a former student. Two are part of the HHS Farm now.  These were originally placed in the incubator for a maintenance worker, who later confided in me that the misses would not allow for him to have them.
