The farm construction class of students continued to pull weeds in the garden as the weather allowed. Last year at this time we had most of the garden well-established. This year we have had so much rain and rarely have seen the sun and warm temperatures.

The work took place in preparation for planting and our tour season. The last two to three months of school are when we usually get groups of students from elementary schools. Over the years we have had three high school visits, one junior high visit, and five elementary school visits. We have had a February visit before, back in 2020 when we were in the midst of a drought and many warm days.

Citrus Elementary TK Classes Visit the HHS Farm

Today we had 34 TK students, many parents, and teachers from Citrus Elementary School visit the HHS Family Farm. The students were treated to four different activities. The students walked through the citrus trees and garden, visited the chicken coop, were treated to some art time, and then went to an activities area that involved some physical activities. The students arrived at HHS at 9 AM and stayed until 11 AM. Students from Mr. Connor's 1st and 7th periods and the HHS Leadership teams participated in running the activities for the visitors. When the tour was all over the best compliment we received from the Citrus staff was that what we provided the students was much better than a tour they had taken at Amy's Garden in Ontario.
