Table Update

Todays' effort was on the Garden kitchen table. Worked until we ran out of material!

Planted Lettuce Plants from LA County Fair Farm

Today Mrs. Havers class planted one flat of lettuce that we received from the LA County Fair Farm on Friday.

HHS Garden Kitchen Construction

Today the students moved fast on the kitchen area. They set the walls, framed in the counter top. Then drilled for the screw holes, counter sunk, then screwed in the screws. The students set the sink and the stove top.

The Goats find a Mirror

Today the goats found the mirror in the chicken coop. Interesting that Felicia wanted to fight herself.

Outdoor Kitchen Started

The students began working on an outdoor kitchen in the garden area.  See the previous post of pallet kitchen ideas. On Friday the students brought the pallets over and set them in place.

Other Uses of the Goat Stand

Came to school this AM and found Felicia and the two babies on the Goat stand food table. Later in the day found the kids back out on it.

Milking Stand Completed

For the past couple of weeks students have been working on putting together a milking stand for the goat. I am glad to report it was completed yesterday Wednesday Feb 20th and put to use immediately!

 

Fun on the Farm

Work continues on things..... after four day presidents weekend holiday.

Germinating Seeds

Students have placed the following seeds in plastic bags with tissue paper and sprayed with water.
On Wednesday 2-13 and Thursday 2-14 the students began to germinate the following seeds.

Peppers:  Grand bell, Serrano Chili, Sweet Banana, Jalapeño mild, Jalapeño Early,
Broccoli, Peas, Bean Pole.
Cucumber: Space maker, Sumter, Muncher
Pumpkin: Connecticut Field, Dills Atlantic, Big Max.
Sunflower.
